For those of us who own bikes and ride bikes in our daily lives, driving licenses are very important. How to renew driving license (Re-New)? Not having a driving license to ride a motorcycle is a legally punishable offense under the laws of the country. All of us who have a driving license have a license that has a fixed term. We know that according to the traffic law of Bangladesh, the validity of motorcycle driving license is usually 10 years. After this 10 years pass, everyone has to renew their license again.

First let’s know what will happen if the driver’s license is not renewed?
We know that driving license is essential for driving a motorbike so it is very important to renew it after its expiry. If our driving license expires and is not renewed, you may have to pay a fine of up to Rs. 230 per year.
On the other hand, from the date of expiry of the license, there is an opportunity for renewal up to the next 15 days. Penalty will not be charged in any such case.
Now let’s know how to complete your driving license renewal process?
Step 1: Documents Required for Driving License Renewal:
- Photocopy of Driving License,
- Photocopy of National Identity Card (NID).
- Attested photocopy of Citizen Certificate (to be collected from City Corporation or Ward Councilor office in the area).
- Passport size photo 4 copies.
- Old driving license card.
For bank payment you need to get the photocopy of driving license attested by renewal officer of BRTA office which should be submitted along with bank deposit form while depositing money in bank. After depositing this amount, bank draft paper should be collected and kept with you.
Step 2: In this step you have to fill 2 types of forms. It is-
1- Renewal form
2- Medical form.
1- Renewal form: The things to be noted while filling the renewal form are – If you are married, you have to give your wife’s name/husband’s name and mobile number. If unmarried then give your father’s name/mother’s name. You can fill this form online.
2- Medical form: According to the check up list of the medical form, after checking all the subjects, the form should be medically tested by an MBBS doctor and the certified copy should be submitted. You can collect this form from BRTA or nearby photocopy shops.

1 copy of attested photo should be submitted in these two forms. After filling the renewal form and medical form, photocopy of driving license, photocopy of national identity card, photocopy of citizen certificate, photocopy of bank slip, original copy of medical certificate should be submitted together.
In case of Professional Driving License-
Police investigation report should be attested with all the above documents. Along with this, 3 copies of passport size and 1 copy of stamp size photographs should be submitted and the practical test should be given again.
If you have all the documents correct then on the same day or the next day you will get a duplicate or sample driving license with which you can drive a motorcycle temporarily until you receive an SMS for your biometrics.
Step 3: When the Biometric SMS is received or if you have been given a specific date, you have to go to the BRTA office and take your finger print and photo according to that date. You will get the computer copy on the same day.
Step 4: You can collect your driving license smart card with that computer copy within 3 months of taking finger print and photograph.
By completing the above steps you can easily renew your driving license.
