Rajshahi Edu: Board Govt Model School and College

Rajshahi Board of Education Government Model School & College is located in the heart of Rajshahi City, Rajshahi Naogaon Road, adjacent to Rajshahi District Stadium, next to Rajshahi Government Polytechnic, established in 2010. The college offers classes from class I to class XII. There are total 65 teachers and about 2500 students. About 200 students in the 11th class studying in the educational institution get admission in science, humanities and business branches every year.

Rajshahi College
Rajshahi College will be 1st in the list of government colleges of Rajshahi. Rajshahi College is located next to Saheb Bazar, the heart of Rajshahi city. In 1873, the country’s best traditional college started its journey with about 35 acres of land north of the Padma River, where the memory of Hazrat Shah Makhdoom Rahmatullahi Alaihi is enshrined. At present Rajshahi College has 24 departments and higher secondary classes under four faculties.
About 26 thousand students are studying in the college. About 4000 undergraduate and 500 higher secondary students get admission in the college every year. Rajshahi College has seven residential halls for boys and two for girls. The total number of teachers in Rajshahi College is around 150.

Former students of this college include Justice Radha Vinod Pal, Kazi Motahar Hossain, Akshar Kumar Maitra, poet Rajnikant Sen, Justice Md. Habibur Rahman, Ibn Golam Samad, Dr. Wazed Ali Mia. The present Principal of Rajshahi College is Professor Md. Abdul Khalek. Prof. Md. Abdul Khalek is the 57th Principal of Rajshahi College. He is serving as the principal of this college since 2021.

The first principal of Rajshahi College was Hargabind Sen. He served as the principal of the college from 1873 to 1878.

New Govt Degree College Rajshahi
Rajshahi New Govt Degree College located next to Rajshahi Central Jail at CNB Junction in Rajshahi ranks 2nd in the list of Rajshahi Government Colleges. Established in 1966, the college is one of the best educational institutions in Bangladesh. New Govt Degree College is currently studying about 10 thousand students and the total number of teachers in this college is about 70.

Rajshahi Government City College
In 1958, Rajshahi Government City College was established on 0.50 acres of land in Rajar Hatay area under Boalia police station of Rajshahi city. In the beginning, as the college did not have its own building, the classes of this college used to be held in the neighboring Loknath High School premises. Rajshahi Government City College, which started with 140 students, currently has about 7,000 students and about 60 teachers.

Rajshahi Government Women’s College
List of Rajshahi Government Colleges Complete Rajshahi Government Women’s College is the only government higher education institution for girls. This college was established in 1962 in Kadirganj of Rajshahi. This college currently has a total of 16 departments including higher secondary. Currently there are about 5000 students and 80 teachers.

Rajshahi Government Model School and College
It was established in 2006 behind the office of Bangladesh Betar next to Rajpara Police Station in Rajshahi city. The current Rajshahi Government Model School and College started its journey under the name of Rajshahi Model School and College. Initially it was not a government educational institution but in 2017 it was nationalized and renamed as Rajshahi Government Model School and College School and College.

Martyr Intellectual Government College Rajshahi
Shaheed Buddhijivi Government College is located next to Rajshahi Government Women’s Polytechnic at the entrance of Rajshahi city. Shaheed Buddhijivi Government College Rajshahi started its journey in 1965 under the name of Govt. Commercial Institute. In 2016, the name was changed from Govt Commercial Institute to Shaheed Buddhijibi Govt College Rajshahi.

Shaheed AHM Kamruzzaman Government Degree College Rajshahi
The present Shaheed AHM Kamruzzaman Government Degree College started its first journey in the suburban area of ​​Rajshahi city in 1993 under the name of Rajshahi Housing State Degree College. Later, the college was nationalized in 2013 and the college was named after the father of Mr. AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, the present mayor of Rajshahi, one of the four national leaders. The college offers honors and degree courses in about 15 subjects besides Class XI-XII.

Rajshahi Collegiate School and College
Rajshahi Collegiate School and College is one of the oldest educational institutions of Rajshahi established in 1828. Rajshahi Collegiate School and College was established in 1828 as Baulia English School. Class XI was introduced in Rajshahi Collegiate School and College from 2008. Every year a total of 100 students get admission in science and commerce stream in class 11.

Rajshahi University School and College
Rajshahi University School and College was established in 1966 under the Educational Research Institute of Rajshahi University. Initially classes were taught from class I to class X, but class XI was introduced for the first time in 1983. Every year about 200 students get the opportunity in class 11 in business, science and humanities.
